We are reminded during this season of Thanksgiving to “Give thanks in all things, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). The Shepherd’s Ministries team is thankful to the Lord for allowing us to minister to His sheep.

TSM has continued to minister to veterans and seniors despite the changes COVID has brought to our way of life. We have continued weekly luncheons at the Utica Veteran’s Outreach Center every Wednesday (11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.). Volunteers have shared the love of Christ with many visitors, leading some to a personal relationship with HIM! The love of Christ is also shared through music and singing. A special Thanksgiving dinner for veterans and the community will be held November 18 at the VOC located at 726 Washington Street in Utica, New York.

One of our visions is to establish a Christian Independent Living Home for the elderly where we would be able to share His love with those who do not want to be alone. During this pandemic, many elderly are alone in nursing homes without the touch of their loved ones. We have shared songs and hymns in a local nursing home with Pastor Rick’s parents. Seeing the smiles on their faces as we stand outside their window and sing is priceless. Please pray for an end to this pandemic so we can return to an even greater ministry in the nursing homes.

COVID will not stop us from sharing the love of Jesus Christ. The Gospel message is the most important message today. Our eternal future is where we need to place our focus. Jesus sent us out and we at The Shepherd’s Ministries desire to do His will. We need to be His hands, His heart, and His voice in this dark time. May the Lord bless each one of you to go out and minister in His name.

Please continue praying for a building to house a home base so that we are able to build the Christian Independent Living home we envision! | Pastors Rick Johnson & David Ossenfort
